Wearing vintage is one of the best ways to spice up your look, give it a unique touch and be good to the environment by giving a new life to an old piece. And plus, how cool is it to know that nobody can be wearing the exact same piece as you? The Vienna Fashion Week this year ended with a Vintage Fashion show powered by Humana People to People, and it was amazing! Humana is an organisation that uses the proceeds of the collected and sold clothing to raise awareness and work on projects that fight poverty and inequality around the world.

The vintage lover that I am, when I heard about a vintage fashion show I was already really excited, but boy I could not have expected such an spectacle full of music, colour and laughs. Each and every model on the catwalk was super fun and fully into their role, plus I loved the fact that most of the people were not professional models but people from all ages and body types, which really added to the authenticity and feel of the show. It showed fashion from the last 60 years, divided into different decades, every one accompanied by the coolest music choices and most of the times also by live performances and dancing acts. Mario Soldo, the director of the show even dressed up and got into the role of a model a couple of times as well!  I definitely could not stop laughing and admiring the outfits they put together, which seriously served as a new inspiration for more vintage in my life. Here are some impressions that have hopefully captured the atmosphere of the show.

Mamma Mia, here we go again

Here are some more photos from out Greece trip, which went on in Skiathos Island, one of the places on earth me and my mom have been wanting to go for ages, mainly because of the movie Mamma Mia, which has been filmed there. Many people would say that’s very lame, I know 😀 Nevertheless, we love this movie and seriously there are so many reasons to love it (I guess if you are a woman haha), the beautiful locations, the great ABBA songs that never get old, the wonderful play of  Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried and most of all the beautifully pictured bond between a mother and a daughter. In fact, most parts of the movie have been filmed on the neigbouring island Skopelos, so of course, we didn’t miss to visit both 🙂 Both islands are really authentic and even though they have for sure changed after filming the movie there in 2008, read, a lot more tourists, but they have still managed to preserve their authentic feel and beauty. Skiathos is super lively and the main town is full of tiny streets, where you can get wonderfully lost among white-blue painted houses and tiny little restaurants. The island is not very big but offers some really beautiful sand beaches such as Koukounaries. Some of them, which are located on the northern shore, are not accessible by ground transport, so you can only go there by boat, they are really worth visiting though. The town is also famous for its night life and offers some pretty cool bars on the seaside, for whom it may interest 🙂 One if the boat cruises took us to the close islands Skopelos and Alonisos, where we spent a great day exploring Skopelos town and some beautiful beaches. One of my favourite places though will stay the old port of Skiathos, which had something really magical about it and looked pretty like a movie location (despite actually being one 😀 – that is the place where Pierce Brosnan’s yacht leaves from to go to the wedding). Enough said haha. Well one more thing. I don’t know if it’s an age thing, but you just really start appreciating those moments spent with family so much more with time 🙂 It was really a blast spending that time with them <3

Last week in Varna my brother brought us to this lovely little beach in St. Constantine and Helena for a family dinner date at the Bay. It’s an arabic restaurant with great food right above the beach with two floors, a restaurant in the second floor and a bar in the first, where you can enjoy some drinks and snacks on a day at the beach as well.  While we were waiting for our parents to arrive we went for a little walk. As a person who never leaves the house without at least a mascara on my eyelashes, I was quiet terrified at first to figure out that I had forgotten my make-up at home.  Luckily, I found this red lipstick in my purse, which turned out to be enough to elevate the look (or at least, my mood 🙂 or was it the proximity to the sea??) But truth to be told, I really think red lipstick is flattering to pretty much anyone so girls, if you happen to be in a make-up-less situation and want an instant polish, just grab a red lipstick and seize the night 🙂
